Before You Pack

Sending a parcel to Pakistan is one of the most common things we help with at our branches. Whether it's clothing for family, documents for a visa application, or gifts for a special occasion, we've posted thousands of parcels to Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and beyond.

Here's what you need to know before you come in.

What You Can (and Can't) Send

You can send:

clothing, books, dried foods (sealed), cosmetics, electronics (with batteries removed), documents, toys, and most household items.

You cannot send:

perfume or aftershave (classified as flammable), loose lithium batteries, fresh food, medicines (without proper documentation), or any liquid over 500ml.

If you're unsure, bring the item in and we'll check for you — it's far better to ask than to have your parcel turned away or seized at customs.

Customs Forms

Every parcel going to Pakistan needs a customs declaration form (CN23). We'll fill this out with you at the counter. You'll need to describe the contents accurately, declare the value, and sign the form. Be honest about values — undervaluing items can cause delays or seizure at customs.

How Much Will It Cost?

Prices vary by weight and service. As a rough guide:

  • Up to 2kg: from £15–£25 (International Standard, 2–3 weeks)
  • Up to 5kg: from £30–£50
  • Up to 10kg: from £55–£80

International Tracked and Signed costs more but provides full tracking and a signature on delivery. We recommend this for anything valuable.

How Long Does It Take?

  • International Standard: 2–4 weeks (no tracking once it leaves the UK)
  • International Tracked: 1–2 weeks with full tracking
  • International Signed: 2–3 weeks with signature confirmation

Packing Tips

  • Use a sturdy box — we stock a range of Royal Mail boxes and padded bags in-branch
  • Wrap fragile items in bubble wrap (also available in our branches)
  • Seal with proper packing tape — not masking tape or sellotape
  • Write the full address in English and, where possible, in Urdu — this helps local postal services deliver more reliably
